A Dusting of Snowflakes

A dusting of snowflakes
Out from my window
An escape to a world
In need of compassion
I think of you
I will not jump out
Alone till you get here
And like dragonflies do
We shall soar no matter
What the flight shall bring.

A dusting of snowflakes
Out from my window.
We shall connect ourselves
To these dissipating dots
Like a child’s coloring book
Page and delineate
Without thinking our
Daily flight

A dusting of snowflakes
Out from my window
The sun has
Hand ladled them
All away
Like you when
I see you
We shall rest our wings
Upon the sill
Bathing in loyality
Freeze dried
In love.

A dusting of snowflakes
Out from my window. .
Two wings thaw
And so fly away
Am I now alone
On this sill to weep
In the bitter cold
Only my tears
To forever freeze
My wings to stone
Never more this sill
A launching pad
To soar as one?

A dusting of snowflakes
Out from my window
